We are seeking an energetic and experienced Special Education Teacher aide to join our team! As a Special Education Teacher aide, you will work with students with learning, sensory processing, developmental, and language and communication disorders. Your goal is to recognize their individual educational needs and create a fun environment and assist the staff . The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, passionate, and dedicated to helping children with learning disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Create and enforce classroom rules and procedures
- Follow instructions provided by lead teacher
- Create goal oriented group activities
- Logging information about kids activities while in class
- Write and submit necessary reports
- Communicate with parents and other staff members
- Assist staff in cleaning classroom
- Must be comfortable with diaper changing
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher and special education license
- Previous experience as a special education teacher aide is preferred
- Good understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and other related disorders
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
- Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Compensation: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
