Job Description:

Make an Impact. Teach Differently.
The Helix School is seeking a compassionate and creative Special Education Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. We serve bright and neurodivergent students, primarily on the autism spectrum, in a therapeutic, relationship-based school setting. Our teachers work with a max of 7 students in the classroom, supported by specialists including SLPs, OTs, Behaviorists, BCBAs, and Counselors.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in small-group environments, believes in whole-child learning, and is ready to bring joy, innovation, and structure to every student’s day.



Your Day-to-Day:

  • Teach a class of up to 7 students with autism and related learning differences

  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with IEPs

  • Integrate social-emotional learning and life skills into the daily curriculum

  • Collaborate with therapists, families, and teaching aides to ensure student success.

  • Use evidence-based practices to support academic, behavioral, and emotional growth.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe with Autism Authorization)- or in a current credential program with an intern credential. 

  • Team-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills

  • Passion for inclusive education and relationship-based teaching



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Special Education or related field

  • Familiarity with DIR/Floortime, PRT, TEACCH, or other developmental approaches



Salary / Benefits:
