Reports To: Dean of Student Services
Schedule: Faculty Calendar, Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-3:35 pm, including professional development and work days. Occasional meetings outside regular school hours may be required.
Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County seeks a dedicated and mission-aligned Special Education Teacher / Case Manager to support students with disabilities within a rigorous, content-rich classical education environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and committed to academic excellence and character formation.
Manage a special education caseload in compliance with all state and federal regulations and required timelines
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Conduct evaluations and participate in eligibility determination meetings
Provide research-based interventions and individualized instruction using both push-in and pull-out service models
Supervise and support paraprofessionals
Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, families, and service providers
Reinforce instruction through small-group and one-on-one support
Implement and monitor positive behavior intervention plans
Maintain accurate, confidential records, including progress monitoring and compliance documentation
Promote inclusion in general education settings and school activities
Ensure student safety and follow all school emergency protocols
Participate in professional development, meetings, and required trainings
Maintain consistent attendance and professionalism
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred
Current Colorado Special Education Generalist K-12 license
Experience with push-in and pull-out instructional models preferred
Strong instructional and organizational skills
