Special Education Teacher - Center School, Mattapoisett

Old Rochester Regional School District/ MA Superintendency Union #55 is seeking a passionate and innovative moderate disabilities special education teacher for Center School in Mattapoisett, MA. This position will entail responsibilities for day-to-day management of the assigned classes, provision of instruction and supervision of classroom staff.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Providing opportunities for individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
-Encouraging students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior and achievement, which includes working with support staff when needed.
-Collaboration with related service providers.
-Creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students' needs.
-Employing a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media.
-Writing and implementing student IEPs.
-Conducting achievement testing and writing corresponding reports.
-Attending IEP meetings.
-Tracking progress and quarterly reports in regards to IEP goals and achievement.
-Ongoing parental contact.
