Special Education Teacher - Contract
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Required Qualifications:
Special Education (SPED) licensure in Colorado or alternative license.
Job Description
Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Design and implement educational plans to meet the individual needs and abilities of students.
Teach and Mentor: Use various teaching methods to educate students with mild to moderate disabilities. Adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects to students at different grade levels.
Assess Progress: Monitor students' progress and adjust lessons to meet their needs. This includes grading assignments and quizzes, and providing feedback to students and parents.
Collaborate with Other Staff: Work closely with general education teachers, school administrators, and other specialists (like speech therapists and psychologists) to ensure that the student's needs are being met.
Maintain Compliance: Ensure all services provided are in compliance with state and federal laws. Maintain accurate records and documentation for each student.
Parent Communication: Regularly communicate with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, potential issues, and related matters.
Continue Education: Stay updated on the latest teaching methods, educational research, and industry trends to provide the best learning experience for your students.
