As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll design and lead individualized programs that include academics, daily living skills, social development, and vocational readiness. You’ll work alongside a supportive team to help each student reach their fullest potential; whether that’s preparing for an inclusive classroom, developing independence, or transitioning to adulthood.
You will:
- Create engaging lessons that blend academics, life skills, and community readiness
- Monitor and celebrate student progress through IEP goals
- Partner closely with families, staff, and service providers
- Inspire growth, confidence, and success in every student you teach
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Master’s preferred)
- Valid NYS Special Education Certification (Grades 7–12 preferred)
- 2+ years of teaching experience or advanced training in special education
- A strong belief in the power of education to change lives
