EMIT Learning is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher (Extensive Needs) to work on our school campus in Rocklin, CA, for the 2025-26 school year. Position Details

Position Overview

The Special Education Teacher is responsible for the overall management of their classroom, including student and staff supervision. This role includes designing and implementing curriculum, developing and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior plans, and collaborating closely with families and multidisciplinary team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage classroom operations, including student and instructional aide supervision.
  • Design and implement curriculum aligned with student needs and program goals.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with parents, instructional aides, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and administration.
  • Create and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
  • Administer and interpret standardized assessments to evaluate student progress.
Qualifications
  • Experience in special education or related fields such as child development or behavioral health.
  • Strong knowledge of classroom management techniques tailored to students with extensive needs.
  • Familiarity with educational approaches such as Montessori and experience working with students with autism.
  • Understanding of child welfare principles and commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
  • Ability to administer and interpret standardized testing.
