Special Education Teacher Full-Time
Position Overview:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking a full-time itinerant Special Education Teacher to service students in the Tri County region. These teachers provide Special Education services for students birth through 21 in both Early Intervention and School Aged class settings.
This position is contingent upon future staffing needs and may not extend into the 2026–2027 school year.
Pay and Benefits
- Salary: Bachelor's $63,830, Master's $65,971, Master's +15 $67,385, Master's +30 $69,097
- 187 work days per school year, 37.5 hour work week.
- 10 paid sick days, 3 Personal Days, 2 Emergency Days per school year

Required Qualifications:
- Certification in Special Education (equivalent of pre-K-12 Required)
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification in regular education
- Experience utilizing Positive Behavior Supports
- Knowledge of various disability categories (i.e. Developmental Delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech and Language)
Essential Functions:
- Developing lessons and teaching children in classrooms
- Conducting evaluations to determine eligibility for services
- Writing Evaluation Reports and Individualized Education Plans for students
- Providing services as determined through the IEP process
- Inputting data utilizing the PELICAN system
