Title: Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher for Students with Moderate Disabilities 1.0 FTE

This position covers a leave of absence starting approximately January 20, 2026 and ending, on or about, April 17, 2026.

Position Summary:
Promotes learning and growth of all students in the REACH program at LSRHS by providing high-quality functional academic instruction; student assessment; student data analysis; improvement of instruction by use of data driven techniques; providing students with constructive feedback; continuously refining learning objectives; identifying and managing vocational opportunities both in and out of the school setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to):
*Provide specialized instruction in the form of functional academics to students with a variety of learning disabilities as per the IEP document
*Chair, facilitate and write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and any related documentation including Chapter 688 referrals and transition planning, etc. for students on their caseload
*Complete formal and informal student assessments to determine eligibility for Special Education services
*Work in collaboration with other service providers, outside providers, and general education teachers
*Develop, provide, and implement academic and behavioral accommodations and modifications for students in general education classes.
*Work with internal and external contacts to provide meaningful and varied vocational opportunities for students
*Manage scheduling for Teaching Assistants attached to the classroom

Qualifications:
*Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
*Licensed in Moderate Disabilities 5-12 by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education, to include Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement
*Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families, general education teachers, and students
*Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of service providers

Experience Preferred:
*3 + years educational teaching environment
*Experience evaluating, interpreting, and reporting assessments such as: WJ-IV and/or WIAT II or IV
*Experience implementing academic and social/behavioral interventions
*Experience implementing transition planning to college/career

Salary Range:
*Unlicensed candidate:
*******$125/day (1-90 days)
*Licensed candidate:
*******$125/day (1-30 days)
*******$312.19/day - $734.44/day (30+ days)
