Special Education Teacher for Summer Scholars Club

Prospect Hill Academy Charter School is looking for qualified Special Education teachers to provide Extended School Year Services in our Summer Scholars Club. The program will run from June 29 - July 31, Monday - Thursday, 8:30am - 12:30pm. The teachers’ work day will be 8:15am - 12:45pm. Prep time will either be included in the 8:15am - 12:45pm time frame or will be compensated. Orientation dates:

• (2) Virtual session, 3:30 - 5:00 pm, dates TBD
• (1) In-person session at Early Childhood Campus, 8:00 - 3:30, TBD

Required:

• Demonstrated track record of effective small group specialized instruction for students with mild-moderate special education needs
• Ability to analyze student learning data collected from daily instructional work, in order to monitor progress and adapt teaching
• Ability to support students with productive struggle and personal goal setting
• Ability to communicate with families about progress
• Ability to be reliable and responsible at all times
• Ability to complete Special Education progress reports at the end of the summer program
• Must hold valid and current MA DESE certification as a Special Educator

Preferred:

• Experience teaching a structured phonics program preferred (Orton-Gillingham or Wilson)
