The Athol-Royalston Regional School District is looking for a Kindergarten Special Education Teacher at the Athol Community Elementary School. Licensed candidates, and those who may qualify for Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) licenses or waivers, are encouraged to apply. Individuals who believe they may qualify for an Emergency License or DESE waiver are encouraged to apply.
Successful candidates must be committed to helping students find academic, social, and emotional success in an inclusive setting. The chosen educator will work alongside and in partnership with a content general educator. The co-teachers will create an equitable, inclusive environment that supports students' mental health while presenting them with challenging, rigorous content with a focus on growth.
Candidates will complete all required special education testing, attend and participate at IEP meetings, prepare progress reports, direct paraprofessionals and all other special education tasks as they arrive. Other duties as assigned by the Special Education Coordinator, Principal or Director of Pupil Services.
