Qualifications:
Licensed MA Special Education teacher, Moderate Special Needs, PreK-8 or 5-12
Working knowledge of Language Based Learning Disability (LBLD) methodologies and support preferred
Duties & Responsibilities
Consult with student teams and develop an instructional model and practices that support students with language-based learning disabilities across academic settings;
In collaboration with curriculum coordinators, design and teach a small-group, substantially separate math class;
Provide inclusion support in science for students with LBLD;
Serve as special education liaison for a caseload of students with LBLD and complete required IEP documentation that adheres to compliance timelines;
Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional assistants to ensure that accommodations and modifications are being implemented;
Complete informal and formal diagnostic assessments and use resulting data to make recommendations for IEP programming and service delivery;
Lead Annual Review meetings, using input from the team to develop IEPs that address specific needs of students;
Coordinate with service providers to ensure compliance with service delivery grids across settings;
Collect, compile and interpret data to guide progress monitoring and inform adjustments to instructional practice when necessary;
Communicate regularly with parents, reporting progress and addressing areas of need
Incorporate assistive technology to support the needs of LBLD students across settings in accessing curriculum;
Collaborate with other Special Education teachers and staff, providing support and consultation for students with LBLD across the building.
$54,264 - $103,296
- Final placement on the salary scale is determined by highest degree earned and years of service in a licensed teaching role
- Prorated based on start date.
