Job Description:
The Language-Based Strategies teacher is responsible for creating individualized education plans for students in the special education program to achieve academic proficiency and close the achievement gap for the students. This teacher will serve as the liaison for special education students, maintain data and communicate progress to families. The teacher will plan lessons, deliver instruction (including small group English and Math) and assess all students’ progress throughout the year.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the developmental needs and interests of students Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and communicate these objectives to students. Collect data and assess the progress of students on a regular basis. Write IEPs, progress reports, and evaluate students as required. Develop/modify academic curriculum. Consult with colleagues, students, and parents on a regular basis.
Salary Range: $61,848 to $118,668 per year
