We are seeking a passionate, dedicated Social-Emotional Behavioral Teacher to join our team and help guide students in developing the skills necessary for personal and academic growth.
Position Overview:
As a Special Education Teacher in a Social/Emotional/Behavioral classroom, you will work with students who experience emotional and behavioral challenges, providing tailored instruction and interventions to help them succeed both academically and socially. You will collaborate with classroom teachers, counselors, and other therapists to create individualized plans that address students' unique needs and empower them to thrive in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and implement personalized educational and behavioral plans for students with emotional and behavioral challenges.
Provide individual and small group instruction focusing on social-emotional skills, conflict resolution, self-regulation, and coping strategies.
Monitor and assess students' progress, adjusting interventions as needed.
Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and other specialists to support students' academic and emotional needs.
Maintain a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages self-expression and emotional development.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and strategies for reinforcing social-emotional skills at home.
Support the school community in creating a trauma-sensitive, emotionally supportive environment.
Trauma-informed practices to create a safe, supportive, and empathetic environment that fosters healing and learning for all students, particularly those with emotional and behavioral challenges.
CURRENT MASSACHUSETTS LICENSE REQUIRED. MODERATE TO SEVERE DISABILITIES LICENSURE PREFERRED.
