The Pathways program provides a partial inclusion and/or fully sub-separate model of
learning that utilizes intensive Applied
Behavior Analysis (ABA) instruction. The services may include a combination of
supported inclusion, discrete trial sessions,
small group activities/learning, and incidental teaching strategies. Students access
general education classes with support and the
use of a modified curriculum and individually designed programs. Teacher/student ratios
are very low in order to provide small
group and/or individualized instruction. The program is based on the principles of Applied
Behavior Analysis (ABA) and
Positive Behavior Supports with a focus on the use of individualized Behavior Support
Plans (BSP) incorporating strategies
including functional communication training and positive reinforcement systems.
All Special Education teachers consult with general education teachers, as well as
related service providers and families on a regular basis.
