We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher/Reading Specialist Tutor to provide individualized literacy instruction to a student with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate has strong training in structured literacy and a passion for supporting students’ reading development through evidence-based practices. This role also offers the opportunity to collaborate with and coach classroom teachers on best practices in literacy instruction.
Position is based in Barnstable, MA. This position is 3 hours a week (2.5 direct instruction with 30 minutes of prep).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized, one-to-one reading instruction aligned with the student's IEP goal.
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data and ongoing assessment.
Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers as appropriate.
Support and coach classroom teachers, as needed, on best literacy practices and instructional strategies.
Maintain clear documentation of instruction and student progress.
