Ideally, the selected candidate’s employment will begin this school year and will work with the current instructional team for the remainder of the school year to ensure a smooth transition to the 2026-2027 school year.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The position is a member of the CEO's instructional team and is responsible for duties related ides direct support for:

 

General Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and provides support for content teachers of record.
  • Creates lesson plans, aligned with current state standards, which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation.
  • Maintains a safe, organized classroom, which supports students.
  • Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.
  • Provides a variety of assessments and uses assessments for planning and instruction.
  • Monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports the school wide behavior expectation.
  • Uses available technology to enhance the students’ learning experiences.
  • Attends and participates in faculty meetings and extra-curricular/school related activities.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the CEO
  • Follows professional practices consistent with school policies in working with students, students’ records, parents, and colleagues
  • Facilitates home-school communication.
  • Demonstrates professional practices in teaching:
    • Models correct use of language, oral and written
    • Demonstrates accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content
    • Implements designated curriculum and grade level standards
    • Maintains lesson plans as required by school policy
    • Assigns instructional tasks and homework to students
    • Takes precautions to protect records, equipment, materials, and facilities
    • Plans and coordinates purposeful assignments with teachers of record.

This position is a members of the Georgia Teachers Retirement System (TRS) and are eligible to participate in the State Health Benefit Plan, group dental, vision, and supplemental coverages. All SCA employees are provided with $20K of life insurance at no-cost.

REPORTS TO: CEO

SALARY SCHEDULE: Salary will be based on the teacher salary scale.

WORK DAYS: 190 days

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Education Level: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with teaching certification.
  1. Experience, Skill, and Certification: Classroom teacher experience. Knowledge of best instructional practices, Ability to successfully lead and coach adults, Eligible for Leadership Certification
  • Must be computer literate:
    • Must have effective oral and written Communication skills
    • Must have strong organizational skills
    • Must be able to work under pressure
    • Must be able to navigate student databases to input relevant data
    • Must be able to relate to people of all ethnic groups and socio-economic levels
    • Must be able to work with limited supervision

Preferred: Experience working with children in a Georgia school setting as a classroom teacher.
