REPORTS TO: Principal, Assistant Principal
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide comprehensive academic, life skills, and social-emotional-behavioral (SEB) support for students. Collaborate with parents, staff, and administration to design and implement research-based lesson plans that foster essential life skills for students' success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Provide small group and direct instruction, including discrete trial training
● Perform observations and gather data
● Provide feedback/write IEP progress reports, goals, and summary; Attend Team meetings
● Provide direct instruction in areas identified on student-specific service plans, including: academic skills, social skills, related adaptive functioning, and curriculum access
● Assess for and create social/behavior plans
● Provide direct support for behavioral interventions, including implementation, modeling, and training of staff
● Provide support for language acquisition, including Assistive Technology and AAC
● Coordinate student service delivery schedules with therapists and/or teachers
● Consult with BCBA, PT, OT, SLP, Psychologist, General Education Teachers, and Guidance on student-specific programming
● Conduct regular parent communication
● Attend professional development / conferences
● Maintain a district-identified de-escalation certification
QUALIFICATIONS:
● DESE Special Education Teaching License; Teacher of Severe Disabilities Preferred
● Experience in education preferred
● Ability to work well with teachers and students
● Approved CORI and Fingerprinting results
Salary Range: $55,979.00 - $65,127.00
