The Bromfield Middle School is seeking a special education teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
Reports to: Building Principal and Director of Pupil Services.
Responsibilities:
Classroom/Inclusion Setting:
Within mainstream or in a pullout setting, provide teamed, small group or individualized instruction and/or academic support according to the general and specific goals outlined in students' individualized educational plans.
Collaborate with service providers as indicated in student education plans.
Oversee the assignment of Learning Assistants, if indicated by Principal or Special Education Administrator.
To provide small group or individual instruction to students with disabilities as prescribed in their educational plans.
Modify and adapt the curricula, materials, and physical environment to meet the needs of individual students.
Professional/Other:
Facilitate IEP Team meetings.
Complete IEP paperwork as indicated.
Conduct academic achievement evaluations and formal and informal assessments.
Complete/update student attendance, communication, other records daily or as assigned.
To provide consultation services to school staff in terms of modifying curriculum, teaching style to meet the needs of special education students, if indicated.
To attend special education department meetings and designated school staff meetings as indicated by the Principal and/or Special Education Administrator.
Other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.
Qualifications/Experience:
Valid Massachusetts DESE licensure required.
Prior experience as a teacher preferred.
Master’s degree preferred.
Co-teaching experience preferred.
Training in specialized reading is preferred.
