Fallbrook Union Elementary School District is accepting applications for Special Education Teachers with Mild to Moderate Support Needs and Extensive Support Needs for the 2026 Extended School Year (ESY) Special Education Program. Recruitment is open to FUESD-contracted teachers and current substitute teachers. Staff will be selected based on program needs and daily availability to work the duration of the assignment. Staffing will be based on enrollment. Staff may be reduced or increased based on student attendance. 

 

DETAILS FOR THIS POSITION:  

OPEN TO INTERNAL CURRENT FUESD CERTIFICATED EMPLOYEES/SUBSTITUTES ONLY

  • APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 20, 2026- 4:00 PM
  • LENGTH OF WORK PERIOD: 1 Mandatory Staff Meeting/Prep Day on Monday, June 1, 2026, and 19 Instructional Days beginning Tuesday, June 2, 2026 -Monday, June 29, 2026. Except for 6/19- a non-work day. 
  • WORK SITES: Fallbrook Stem Academy, San Onofre School, Mike Choate Center
  • WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 5.0 hours/day, 7:30 am - 12:30 pm. Time varies per site.
  • SALARY (Range C Step 5 on the Certificated Salary Schedule): 1 Staff Meeting/Prep Day paid at $62.00/hourly rate, 19 instructional days at $310.00 per day (based on 5.0 hours/day).
  • REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING: Staff will be selected based on program needs. Previous experience in ESY is preferred. Priority will be given to teachers who will work all days of the summer program. Enrollment will determine
    teacher need, into the first week of the program.
  • EXPECTATIONS: To provide a schedule that incorporates the design elements of course descriptions for the assigned class; to be in attendance and on time for the duration of the program; to provide small group, large group, and one-on-one instruction; to maintain an environment conducive to learning with clear rules, expectations and consequences for inappropriate behavior; to perform all duties of teaching and duty assignments as requested; to perform appropriate documentation on student progress, including pre/post assessments, as well as fill out progress reports with proper documentation.
