Position Title:Special Education Teachers for Extended School Year (ESY 2026)

Anticipated Dates:7/6/2026-8/6/2026

Reports to:Director of Student Support Services

Funded by:General Budget

Qualifications:
oMA Special Education License
oMust possess working knowledge of Massachusetts and federal special education regulations
oExperience working with students with disabilities
oOrganized & flexible
oGood communication skills, excellent writing, and grammar skills

Responsibilities:
oConsult with students’ current teachers to obtain current levels of performance, modifications, and accommodations before the first day of summer programming
oAttend orientation/planning (date/time TBD)
oReview and have a working knowledge of each student’s IEP
oContact all parents before the summer program begins to introduce yourself, ask about parental concerns, and get parental input
oPlan for instruction, create materials
oPrepare classroom/learning environment
oProvide direct services to special needs students
oRecord and submit student attendance
oFollow up with parental concerns
oReturn learning environment to original condition

Salary:$35.00/hour for non-district employees
$50.00 for current QRSD employees
3 hours/day (8:15 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. including prep) Preschool program
3.5 hours/day (8:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. including prep) elementary and middle/high program
