    Dedicated School Staffing is proud to support Perkins Local Schools for the recruitment of substitute school based employment opportunities. We are currently recruiting Bus Aides/Paraprofessionals support students with disabilities in riding the bus safetly to and from school on a daily basis. This position is ideal for someone close to the school, with a flexible schedule. This position reports to the transportation office/bus garage.
     
    Responsibilities
    • Ensures that students are never left unattended during transportation.
    • Supports student safety during the transportation process.
    • Understands school policy and buss attendant procedures.
    • May require fastening/unfastening securement systems such as seat belts, child seats, etc.
    • Provides direction/reminders to sit properly.
    • Assists students boarding and exiting the bus.
    • Redirects student behavior.

    Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Clean criminal background.
    • Three (3) positive professional references.
    • Experience working with school aged children.
     
    After Hire (Contingent)
    • Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide Permit, or higher license.
    • FBI & BCI Background checks dated within 12 months (Cost varies per agency).

    Details
    • Part time; on-call
    • Enrollment in School Employees Retirement System (SERS)

    Hours
    • Hours vary: 1am-1pm (Monday through Thursday); 7:15am-9:15am and 2:15pm-4:45pm (Monday through Friday; 11am-1pm (Monday through Thursday)
    • Please note due to the nature of transportation, ending times are not always cut and dry. Traffic/trains/etc. may delay the bus while on route and those ending times could vary. The variance is not usually more than 15 minutes outside of extreme unusual circumstances such as a mechanical breakdown. If this occurs, employees are accordingly.
