Position: Summer ESY Special Education Teacher
Location: Johnson Elementary School, Nahant, MA
Schedule: Part-Time, Monday–Thursday | 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Program Dates: July 13 - August 6, 2026
Position Summary
Johnson Elementary School in Nahant is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to support students in our Extended School Year (ESY) Summer Program. The Special Education Teacher will provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in alignment with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring continuity of learning and skill development.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students based on IEP goals and objectives
- Plan and deliver targeted lessons in academic, social-emotional, and functional skill areas
- Implement accommodations and modifications to support student access
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with related service providers (e.g., OT, SLP) and support staff
- Create a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment
- Participate in team meetings as needed
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts licensure in Special Education: Moderate PreK-8
- Experience working with elementary students with diverse learning needs preferred
- Wilson OG trained and certified (preferred)
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
