Position Summary:
The Tarbox is seeking a dedicated Crisis Paraprofessional to support students with special education needs. This role focuses on the development of the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—by implementing individualized supports, behavior interventions, and inclusive practices in both general and specialized classroom settings.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day support for special education students in elementary
• Implement strategies to support the development of the whole child
• Manage student behavior, particularly within substantially separate classroom settings
• Support the implementation and progress monitoring of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with students, families, and staff to ensure IEP goals are met
• Participate in meetings related to IEP development and student progress
• Support delivery of high-quality curriculum that aligns with IEP goals
• Apply proactive, positive behavior management systems
• Collect and analyze behavioral data to inform support strategies
• Promote and assist in the inclusion of students into general education settings
• Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to support student needs
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Knowledge of special education practices and behavioral strategies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Capacity to implement behavior modification plans and data tracking
• Ability to collaborate with educators, specialists, and families
• Understanding of inclusion practices and classroom accommodations
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
• Organizational and time management skills
• Commitment to equity and supporting diverse learners

Qualifications & Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s degree or ParaPro certification
• At least one year of experience working with students with disabilities
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate certifications, if required
• Citizenship, residency, or work authorization in the U.S. required

Pay Range
• $25.51 – $33.27 per hour
