The Special Education Manager (South Florida) must be able to visit the BridgePrep Academy campuses in the South Florida region.

Description:

Regional Special Education Managers oversee Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) instructional programming to ensure maximum student achievement for our students with IEPs. You will consistently work to build capacity in to support ESE and ESOL teachers successfully in your region.

Student Achievement Metrics

• 90% of Pre-K-2nd students are on/above grade level in reading, language, and math.

• 85% of 1st-2nd students are on/above grade level in reading, language, and math.

• 80% of students achieve Level 3, 50% achieve Level 4, and 20% at Level 5 on FAST exams.

• 100% of BPA seniors meet the requirements for Graduation.

• 50% of all students in Intervention grow two or more years in Reading and Math.

• 85% ESE and ESOL teachers are retained from year to year

• 95% hired in ESE and ESOL positions

• 100% of FDOE timelines for compliance timelines and evaluations are in compliance

Responsibilities

• Coach and support campus point people to build capacity and implement Intervention in their campus.

• Ensure the coaching and management of Coaches resulting in increased student results.

• Ability to read and analyze Assessment data to prioritize the highest leverage next action steps.

• Observe and coach special education teacher managers holding highly effective data conversations to increase student achievement results.

• Work with teachers and outside contractors to ensure students have an effective IEP to support growth.

• Model effective check ins with LSSP/SLP Leads to ensure data on compliance is reported each week

• Support managers to coach their direct reports in strategies to meet all timelines

• Collaborate closely with the network team to ensure we meet all federal and state guidelines for ESE and ESOL compliance.

• Oversee the management and mentorship of all Special Program Leaders

• Follow and improve operating mechanisms for district wide special education manager collaboration

• Build collaborative partnerships between special education managers to ensure high rigor and effective support in our classrooms across the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

• An earned bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution; Florida certification in at least one area of exceptionality

• At least 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience with record of results (in special education preferred)

• Ability to travel frequently to support schools in your region

• Ability to support general education teachers and students with disabilities to provide consultative instruction, as identified through each student’s IEP.

• Master’s degree in educational field preferred

● Stay up-to-date on special education research and best practices

● Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements: Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move
