Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – School-Based Responsibilities

  • Focus: Specialized assessment, selection, and implementation of AAC systems (low-tech and high-tech). Conduct speech-language evaluations and comprehensive assessments
  • Approach: Deep expertise in device technology, customization, and motor access methods (e.g., eye gaze).
    Participate as a related service provider in IEP meetings
  • Goal: Immediate communication, implementation, and long-term support for non-speaking or complex communicators develop measurable IEP goals aligned with student needs
  • Act as a consultant or key interventionist to implement robust communication systems
  • Maintain compliance documentation and progress monitoring
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families
  • Conduct speech-language evaluations and comprehensive assessments
  • Complete Medicaid billing (if applicable)
  • Participate as a related service provider in IEP meetings
  • Develop measurable IEP goals aligned with student needs

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.
  • Active Oregon Board of Examiners license in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
  • School or Clinic Based experience with K-12 students as an AAC SLP. Deep expertise in device technology, customization, and motor access methods (e.g., eye gaze). Specialized assessment, selection, and implementation of AAC systems (low-tech and high-tech)
  • Experience with IEP development and compliance documentation
