Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team at Grayson County SSA as an ARD Facilitator. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings for students with special needs. You will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and support staff to ensure that each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) is effectively developed, implemented, and monitored. Your role will be crucial in fostering an inclusive educational environment that promotes the academic and social success of all students.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule ARD meetings, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are invited and prepared.
- Facilitate ARD meetings, guiding discussions to ensure that all necessary topics are covered and that all voices are heard.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to develop, review, and revise IEPs in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of ARD meetings, including meeting minutes and IEP documentation.
- Provide training and support to educators and staff regarding special education processes, IEP development, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor the implementation of IEPs to ensure that students receive the appropriate services and supports.
- Serve as a liaison between families and the school, addressing concerns and providing resources as needed.
- Stay informed about current laws, regulations, and best practices in special education to ensure compliance and effective service delivery.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to special education and ARD facilitation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or special education endorsement preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficient in using technology and software for documentation and communication purposes.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
