The Shore Center, a public school for children with autism, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill full time positions as a special education 1:1 paraprofessional.
2025 - 2026 school year - (5) Positions Availiable
F/T: Annual Salary range from $31,096 to $32,641; Single Medical, Prescription and Dental Benefits (eligible after 60 days). Paid Sick and Personal Days
REPORTS TO: Principal/Vice Principal or other appropriately certified staff member as designated by the Superintendent.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accommodates the special needs of a student(s) with physical, emotional, behavioral and mental disabilities providing supplemental services as necessary.
Meets student(s) at the bus at the start of the day and insure student(s) is safely placed on the bus at the end of the day, when necessary.
Assists in the implementation of unique intervention strategies to manage aggressive student behavior.
Assist the special education teacher in providing a student(s) with equal access to district adopted core curriculum in various settings.
Participates in daily activities, training sessions and special activities to assist in the implementation of IEP goals.
Assists in implementing instruction necessary for assigned student(s) to meet IEP goals.
Maintains and monitors effective group and individual student behavior to provide an optimum learning environment, implementing established disciple practice and policy.
Assists in the evaluation of student performance by administering informal assessments.
Collects data through assessments or observation on student academic and behavioral progress.
Assists with preparation of, and works with specialized instructional materials.
Observes and reports unsafe working conditions.
Duplicates and assembles instructional materials using office equipment, computer and audio visual equipment.
Assist student(s) appropriately when the student is physically challenged.
Provide supervision to special education students during non-instructional periods.
OTHER DUTIES
Maintain required documents, records and files.
Maintains inventory of special education books, supplies and equipment in the classroom.
Assist in the maintenance of student files and retrieval of pertinent information.
Performs all other duties from time to time that may be assigned by the Principal/Teacher, Superintendent or his/her designee.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time 10 months
