This position is ideal for a motivated individual who is passionate about supporting student learning and improving access for non-English speaking students through translation and academic assistance.
The Dual-Language Paraprofessional will provide instructional and language support to students whose primary language is Spanish. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure that students understand classroom content and expectations. This includes assisting with translating instructional materials, interpreting during meetings (when appropriate), and helping students access curriculum in both languages
Qualifications:
As a minimum – County Substitute Certificate
Fluency both in Spanish and English (verbal and written) required
Responsibilities:
Provide bilingual academic and instructional support to students in various classroom settings
Translate classroom materials and school documents from English to Spanish and vice versa
Assist in the communication between school staff and Spanish-speaking students and families
Support students with assignments, note-taking, organization, and understanding of directions
Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that respects diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
Collaborate with teachers, CST members, and other support staff to ensure students' needs are being met
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
