    Position Overview:

     
    • 1.0 FTE Special Education teacher to work with students in an Early Childhood Special Education; 3-5 years old. This role is based out of Park Terrace Elementary Schools and will teach in a Centerbased classroom.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Duties of this job include, but are not limited to...
    • leading a team of paraprofessionals in meeting students’ needs;
    • communicating with parents to provide regular updates on student successes and challenges;
    • collaborating with principals, special education coordinator and staff, and professional learning communities, to ensure student needs are being met;
    • maintaining student records of services provided, following Due Process best practices and compliance;  
    • acting as a Case Manager for students in your classroom and participate in IEP and evaluation summary meetings; and
    • perform other related duties, as assigned.

    Experience: 

    Desired previous experience/knowledge includes...
    • successfully working with students in an Early Childhood setting
    • applying current trends in the field of behavior interventions and support;
    • utilizing standardized assessment tools;
    • effectively collaborating with a team; and
    • constructively communicating with parent/guardian and team members.

    Qualifications:

    Must meet these qualifications...
    • A current Minnesota Special Education Teaching License in Early Childhood Special Education. 
    • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds (and/or up to adult-size body weight with two-to-three-person lift).

    Long Term Substitute for 1.0 FTE Teacher

    Rate of Pay

    $50,076-$102,103/school year (placement determined based on experience and qualifications)
    and salary will be prorated to the length of the assignment.
