Position:  Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

Location:  Early Childhood Center

Hours: 7:50am-3:35pm

 

Qualifications:

  • A Michigan teaching certificate with an Early Childhood (ZS) endorsement or Early Childhood (ZA) endorsement AND a
  • Special Education endorsement in one or more areas
  • Recent teaching experience at or near level and subject being applied for is desirable.

 

Responsibilities:

• Must follow district and state curricula and assessment requirements.

• Knowledge of current curriculum trends in early childhood education and ability to writ and develop new curricular directions in subject area.

• Ability to work effectively with grade level/department/interdisciplinary teams, etc.

• Knowledge of and commitment to regularly use technology as an instructional tool to enhance teaching and learning.

• Demonstrate ability to develop an interdisciplinary approach to delivering instructional outcomes.

• Input/active participation in building and district committee structure to develop new curricular guidelines for all areas.

• Complete and submit all required paperwork, i.e., IEP's, transition plans, Medicaid billings, positive behavior

support plans, etc.

• Follow and implement all Board of Education policies, administrative guidelines and building regulations.

• Ability to supervise and work effectively with classroom paraprofessional(s).

• Willing to perform other duties as necessary and/or directed special education administrator
