Early Intervention Specialist

Help young children build skills that can change the course of their lives.

Parc Center for Disabilities is seeking a compassionate and highly organized Early Intervention Specialist to provide family-centered services to children from birth through age five who have developmental delays, disabilities, or other risk factors.

In this community-based role, you will work one-on-one with children and families in their homes and other community settings. You will partner with parents, therapists, educators, and other professionals to help each child make meaningful progress toward developmental, educational, physical, and social goals.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement individualized early intervention plans for children with diverse developmental needs.
• Provide one-on-one services in family homes and community locations.
• Coach families on strategies they can use during everyday routines to support their child’s development.
• Model and teach daily living, social, behavioral, and self-sufficiency skills.
• Collaborate with families, therapists, educators, social workers, and other early intervention professionals.
• Observe, evaluate, and document each child’s progress, behavior, social development, and physical well-being.
• Establish clear goals and objectives for children’s programs and activities.
• Use positive reinforcement, behavior-modification strategies, and preventive approaches to support children’s success.
• Connect families with appropriate resources and recommendations when behavioral, developmental, or academic concerns arise.
• Maintain accurate enrollment materials, client files, electronic records, reports, waitlists, and caseload information.
• Receive and manage program referrals while building relationships with community agencies and partners.
• Participate in professional meetings, conferences, and training opportunities.

What You’ll Bring

• A bachelor’s degree in a related field or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
• At least two years of experience in early intervention, childcare, or working with children with developmental delays or disabilities.
• A genuine desire to support children and families.
• Strong organization, time-management, and documentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative, flexible approach and the ability to adjust to changing needs.
• Sound judgment and the ability to manage a varied caseload in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional development.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other electronic tools.
• Reliable transportation for travel to family homes, community events, and other service locations.

Physical Requirements

• Lift at least 40 pounds from the floor to waist height when necessary.
• Sit or crouch at a child’s level and transition quickly between sitting, standing, and floor-level activities.
• Reach a child located 20 to 30 feet away within 30 seconds without endangering your health.
• Remain visually, physically, and auditorily aware of children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical needs.
• Respond appropriately to children’s needs, conflicts, and emergencies.

Schedule and Location

The regular business schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although hours may vary based on family and program needs. This is a community-based, in-person position that includes regular office responsibilities and travel to family homes, community events, and other designated locations. It is not a remote position.
