Description

About the position:

St Peter's College is seeking an experienced Educational Support Officer – Senior School to join our Diverse Learning Needs team. The Education Support Officer - Students with Diverse Learning Needs is responsible for providing targeted and specific support under the direction of teachers.  

This position is a part-time, permanent position, working (0.85FTE) 37.5 hours per week, 41 weeks of the year commencing Term 3 2025.

Skills And Experiences

As the successful applicant you will have: 

Essential:

  • Hold South Australian WWCC, Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) – Fundamentals & Masterclass certificates.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Education Support Officer, or a like role.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with students with disability or diverse learning needs.
  • Understanding of the Disability Standards for Education and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data.
  • Experience in working effectively, independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated the ability to establish effective working relationships with adults and young people.
  • Communication skills which are effective in liaising with a wide range of people through a variety of forms. 
  • Demonstrated the ability to provide flexible support for students to be independent learners to achieve their individual optimal education outcomes
  • The ability to nurture and contribute to building positive relationships with staff, students and parents to ensure the wellbeing of students
  • A Certificate IV in Education / Education Support (or equivalent) and/or relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience in a comparable role
