Qualifications:
- English language proficiency required. Second language proficiency preferred.
- Two years of college, an associate's degree, or have passed the Basic Skills Test for teacher certification (MTTC), the WorkKeys Assessment Test, or the ETS ParaPro Assessment for Highly Qualified Paraprofessionals Test preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of student needs along with ability and desire to work with minimal and/or non-English speaking student population.
- Ability to assist student(s) with multiple challenges in the classroom/school environment.
- Deliver small group instruction to K-6 English learner students under the direction of the classroom teachers and EL Consultants.
- Ability to follow through with literacy intervention support.
- Commitment to participate in language acquisition training throughout the year.
- Ability to maintain composure during stressful situations.
- Must possess high level of communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
- Willingness to be trained in area(s) of EL intervention. Foster positive student relationships.
- Maintain anecdotal records. Some charting/logging and parent interaction may be required.
- Characteristics sought include: Child-centered, adaptability, calm demeanor, respect for dignity, patience, confidentiality, and ability to alertly focus during times of potential distraction.
- Good attendance required.

- 4 hrs a day - 8:30 am to 12:30 pm - EL/BILINGUAL Paraprofessional
- Location may change and/or hours may increase or decrease due to student and/or program needs.
