POSITION DESCRIPTION: Southeastern Regional is seeking a vocational paraprofessional with experience in the following industries only:

  • Electrical
  • Construction trades (if no eligible electrical experience)

The vocational paraprofessional works with the shop teacher to ensure that all students can be successful in their program. Paraprofessionals provide students with additional support, assist the shop teacher in maintaining a safe learning environment, and tailor activities to meet students' individual needs. In addition, they must have a genuine passion for working with a diverse student population to help all students succeed. Vocational paraprofessionals may be asked to cover multiple areas throughout the day.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Professional and reliable
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in safely operating hand and power tools
  • Proficient in Electrical or construction trades
  • Strong technology skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and carry out initiatives as assigned by your supervisor(s)
  • Ability to be flexible with job assignments and performance responsibilities
  • Ability to be at their assigned post from 7 am to 3 pm, daily.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Electrical knowledge or trade experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Electrical license or experience preferred.

 

OUR STUDENTS: Southeastern is a diverse, multicultural vocational technical high school that serves over 1,600 students from the City of Brockton and eight surrounding towns. Our students balance the rigors of a complete academic course of studies with technical skill training in over 20 career majors. Upon graduation, our students are prepared for college, career, or additional technical training.

 

COMPENSATION: Paraprofessionals are school-year employees and are paid in 21 equal installments from September - June, or from the initial start date to the end date.
