ELEMENTARY EL PARAPROFESSIONAL (English Second Language) - Grant Funded

Location: Center Line Public Schools

Salary: $14.94 - $15.63/In Accordance with the AFSCME Local 3154 Master Agreement Reports To: Administrator or ELL Specialist/Instructor

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree or minimum of 60 semester credit hours at a community college or higher or passage of an approved paraprofessional assessment. 

PREFERENCES:

  • Experience working with school-age children in an educational setting.
  • Bi-Lingual (i.e. speaking, reading and writing)

JOB GOAL: To become a member of the teaching team to support our EL program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver English as a Second Language push-in support to Level 1-3 elementary students currently in Center Line Public Schools
  • Administer language assessment proficiency instruments.
  • Assess competency in communication skills.
  • Participate in parent/student conferences, parent committee meetings, after school activities.
  • Drive to various work locations within the Center Line Public Schools boundaries.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to continue educational classes to meet the district's requirements for the position.
  • Perform all other job related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
