Summary
Gooding Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Full-Time Elementary Special Education Teacher. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. This role involves developing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with general education teachers, and fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages student growth and achievement.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to support students with special needs.
- Create a structured and nurturing classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and social skills.
- Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal evaluations, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events to enhance educational practices and community involvement.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and attendance.
- Provide support and guidance to paraprofessionals and other staff working with students with special needs.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in special education.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.

- Must pass a background test.
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with disabilities preferred.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to create and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children with special needs.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
