POSITION: Elementary Special Education Teacher

Requirements:

• Michigan elementary teaching certificate in Learning Disabilities (SM); Cognitive --Impairment (SA); or Emotional Impairment (SE)
• Must meet Highly Qualified status
• Willingness to support students in a resource lab setting
• Willingness to support students in a self-contained setting 

Preferences:

• Knowledge or the ability to utilize technology to instructional structure
• Ability to work with a diverse racial and cultural student population
• Understanding of current instructional strategies, including Differentiated Instruction, MTSS, along with providing accommodations and modifications to the general education curriculum
• Knowledge of data disaggregation and application to targeted assistance for general education students
• Knowledge of RTI and supporting interventions
• Experience with the IEP process is highly desirable
• Demonstrated competence as an educator
• Familiar with providing direct explicit instruction in deficit areas
• Strong interpersonal skills, highly motivated, action-orientated
• Works well in a collaborative environment
• Background or certification in Math

Salary: Per the Master Contract
