Adult ELL Paraprofessional; Part-Time


Qualifications & Skills 

  1. Associate’s degree or higher, or
    1. Minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university, or
    2. High school diploma or equivalent combined with a successful completion of a formal state or local assessment measuring knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
  2. Prior experience working with adults  in an educational setting is preferred.
  3. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of student information.
  4. Under the direction of a certified teacher, can skillfully provide supplemental support to students learning English.
  5. Proficiency in following instructional plans utilizing best practice instruction strategies and curricular resources determined by a highly qualified Teacher of Record (ToR). 
  6. Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with teachers and staff. 
  7. Ability to build positive relationships with students, bilingual preferred. 
  8. Strong organizational skills for managing instructional materials and student records. 
  9. Ability to manage time effectively.
  10. Dependability and punctuality.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the delivery of instructional activities and lessons under the guidance of a certified teacher.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Help prepare instructional materials and resources.
  • Support content area teacher/s in collecting progress monitoring data and maintaining accurate student records and progress data/reports as required by Title I legislation.
  • Provide regular updates to the supervising teacher about student progress and challenges.
  • Assist in clerical duties of administering the adult ELL program–i.e. phone contact with students as needed, maintaining accurate attendance records, organizing of materials. 

Program Dates:        August 25 - May 29, 2026; Monday - Thursday from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. (144 days)
