Primary Purpose:

  • To provide timely and orderly registration of all students in compliance with state education law and AISD board policy.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have an Associate’s Degree or have a minimum of 48 semester hours of higher education coursework or pass a district test

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficient in general office skills, with a strong knowledge of ESP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, Google Drive, and typing
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills & attention to details
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently without supervision
  • Pleasant telephone personality and effective communications skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all stakeholders
  • Secretarial and computer skills required
  • Spanish language skills preferred

 

Experience:

  • Post high school courses or a minimum of five (5) years of office experience

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Program Management

  • Greet and assist patrons in a courteous and helpful manner.
  • Make campus assignments for all new high school students after verifying residency in district.
  • Review all applications for Acceptance of Temporary Custodial Care of Minor and make appropriate decisions in compliance with state education law and AISD Board Policy.
  • Research all transfer requests resulting from draw and provide appropriate response within district policy guidelines.
  • Process all Limited Open Enrollment (LOE) transfer requests.
  • Process all out-of-district transfer requests for employees’ children.
  • Process all in-district school transfer requests.
  • Coordinate the application and assignment of foreign exchange students.
  • Assist all district personnel with registration and all general information questions.
  • Train and support registrars with T-Rex and other processes to exchange student records.
  • Maintain budget information.
  • Process all Harris County Juvenile Probation Department (HCJHPD) requests.

 

Policy, Reports, and Law

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy.

Other

  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
  • Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Evaluation

  • Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Non-Instructional Paraprofessional Personnel.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals

Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head

Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Pay Grade: CSP4 

2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $32,761 Mid. $39,463 Max. $46,163  (Based on previous experience) 

Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.
