    Job Summary:

     

    The Resource and Inclusion Paraprofessional will assist special education and general education teachers in providing instructional, behavioral, and functional support to students with disabilities. The paraprofessional works under the supervision of a certified teacher to help implement students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in both the general education and resource settings.

     

    Responsibilities:

     
    • Assist with the implementation of IEPs for students receiving special education services.

    • Support students in inclusion (general education) classrooms and/or resource settings.

    • Provide instructional support to reinforce skills introduced by the teacher.

    • Assist with classroom management and behavior intervention strategies.

    • Supervise students in various settings including classrooms, hallways, lunch, and recess.

    • Maintain documentation and data collection as directed by the special education teacher.

    • Prepare instructional materials and adapt classroom activities as needed.

    • Promote independence and social interaction among students.

    • Collaborate with general education and special education staff.

    • Maintain confidentiality of student information.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or campus administration.

     

    Qualifications:

     
    • High school diploma or GED required.

    • Experience working with children, especially those with special needs, preferred.

    • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and follow directions.

    • Patience, flexibility, and strong communication skills.

     

    Physical and Mental Requirements:

     
    • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.

    • Ability to work with students who may display challenging behaviors.
