Junior High Paraprofessional

Job Summary
Grapeland Junior High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Junior High Paraprofessional. This full-time position involves supporting teachers and students in a dynamic educational environment. The ideal candidate will assist in the implementation of instructional programs, provide individualized support to students, and contribute to a positive learning atmosphere.

Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery of instructional materials and activities.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, ensuring they understand lesson content and complete assignments.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, offering guidance and encouragement as needed.
- Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to identify student needs and develop appropriate strategies to support learning.
- Assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Support students during transitions between classes and during lunch or recess.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including record-keeping and data entry, as required.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to promote a supportive school community.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in using educational software and technology.
- Knowledge of child development and effective instructional strategies is desirable.
- Must pass a background check and meet any other state or local requirements for paraprofessionals.
