    Hours/Days: The duty day is 7:50 am - 3:50 pm

    Salary/Wages: Based on the current Teacher Work Agreement.

    Qualifications: Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Special Education; will consider all special education license areas. We are looking for a team-oriented individual that is comfortable and experienced in working in special education.

    Overview of the Position: Under the direction of the Special Education Program Supervisor, the Special Education Lead is responsible for facilitating and assisting with the successful identification, assessment and implementation of an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for students with disabilities. This includes ensuring that students with disabilities are included (as appropriate) in the general education setting, and are provided reasonable accommodations and adaptations to meet their educational needs. You will participate in meetings as the Administrative Designee to assist with decision making and appropriate planning. 

    Summary of Duties:

    • Manage Due Process of incoming paperwork
    • Schedule and Facilitate Child Study meetings (including working with intervention teams where referrals may come from)
    • Act as Administrative Designee in IEP/Evaluation meetings
    • Develop and Monitor Educational Assistant daily assignments to meet student needs
    • Schedule EA meetings/trainings/mentoring
    • Assist special education staff to develop and implement instructional schedules
    • Attend regular meetings with Program Supervisor to communicate school/student needs and get district updates
    • Attend Lead Teacher monthly meetings
    • Lead PLC meetings with building special education staff.
    • Case manage and instruct small groups on specific IEP goals/objectives
    • Collect data or assist with data collection set up for student specific IEP goals/objectives.
