Long-term (1 year) Special Education Teacher
Reports To: Middle School Principal
Plan lessons that meet the individual needs and abilities of the students
Conduct/participate in the IEP annual review
Write IEPs (accommodations, modifications, goals, etc) following state and federal regulations
Implement a variety of instructional strategies consistent with goals and objectives outlined in students’ IEPs.
Write progress reports for student IEPs.
Ensure compliance with all IEP components
Develop, collect, and analyze data collection for progress monitoring
Case management for students on the liaison list (including developing individualized student schedules, when appropriate
Academic coordination and consultation with general education teachers
Within a variety of settings, provide teamed, small group, or individualized instruction and/or academic support according to the general and specific goals outlined in students' individualized educational plans
Collaborate and co-plan with grade-level content teachers and service providers
Ability to communicate specifics of individualized programs to all staff and provide consultation/training of programs
Create a learning environment that is conducive to learning through consistent and proactive behavior management implementation
Collaborate with general education teachers and other team members
Other related duties as assigned
