Dover-Sherborn High School is seeking a dedicated dedicated Special Education Teacher to serve as a Long-Term Substitute for our Language-Based Learning Disability (LBLD) Program for the 2026-2027 school year.
Job Description: This program supports students with average to above-average cognitive ability who require explicit, strategy-based instruction to overcome neurologically based challenges with language processing and expression.
Key Responsibilities:
● Case Management: Serve as the primary case manager for students with disabilities, overseeing IEP development, goal writing, and progress monitoring.
● Specialized Instruction: Implement structured literacy interventions (e.g., Wilson, Orton-Gillingham) and provide executive function coaching.
● Co-Teaching: Collaborate with General Education Teachers to co-teach English courses at the high school level, ensuring curriculum access through accommodations and modifications.
● Assessment: Conduct and interpret standardized and informal diagnostic assessments to inform instruction and IEP development.
● Communication: Maintain proactive, professional communication with staff, parents, and the wider school community.
Qualifications: ● Education: Master’s Degree in Special Education preferred.
● Licensure: Valid MA State Licensure in Moderate Disabilities (Grades 5–12).
● Expertise: Strong understanding of LBLD, processing deficits, and inclusive education philosophies.
● Preferred Skills: Wilson Reading Certification and/or ELA content area expertise is highly desirable.
