Job Title: Middle School In-School Suspension (ISS) Paraprofessional

Job Description:

The ISS Paraprofessional is responsible for supervising and supporting students assigned to the in-school suspension classroom. This position ensures that students remain on task, follow school policies, and complete assigned academic work in a structured and respectful environment. The paraprofessional will maintain a calm, consistent presence, communicate with teachers and administrators, and help students reflect on their behavior while promoting accountability and positive choices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise students in the ISS classroom throughout the school day.
• Maintain order and enforce school rules and behavioral expectations.
• Ensure students have and complete assigned classwork from their teachers.
• Support students academically as needed, reinforcing classroom instruction.
• Record attendance and monitor student progress.
• Communicate with teachers, counselors, and administrators regarding student behavior and performance.
• Model respectful, professional behavior and promote a positive school climate.
