Summary
Mora Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. This full-time position involves working closely with students who have diverse learning needs, providing tailored instruction and support to help them achieve their academic and personal goals. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing an inclusive environment that promotes the growth and development of all students.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring that instructional strategies are tailored to meet each student's unique requirements.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create a cohesive and supportive educational experience for students.
- Assess and monitor students' progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
- Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, social skills, and life skills to students with varying levels of ability.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, IEP goals, and communication with families and other educators.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement, participation, and self-advocacy.
- Facilitate team meetings to discuss student progress, share insights, and collaborate on strategies for improvement.
- Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities within the school community and promote awareness of special education issues among staff and parents.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or General Education.
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education or General Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation, as well as state and federal special education regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction and student engagement.
