Job Classification:      Special Education Para-Professional, 32.5 hours per week. 
 
Qualifications/Duties:
 

1. Two-year degree or higher; OR High School diploma/GED and must pass PARA Assessment within 90-day probationary period.
2. Ability to read and write the English language with proficiency.
3. Ability to maintain confidentiality
4. The ability to communicate and work effectively with other staff and students.
5. Ability and willingness to show respect for students with special needs. 
6. Be able to follow the IEP under direction and plan of teacher or other licensed/certified professionals
7. Be able to positively interact with staff and students to minimize power struggles.
8. Be able to help student in all subject areas with modified assignments.
9. Be able to redirect student to assigned task.
10. Be able to chart behaviors when needed.
11. Able to handle difficult situations in a calm manner.
12. Current CPR certification and willing (if needed) to be CPI trained within first year of employment.
13. Valid Minnesota driver’s license.
14. Other duties as assigned.       

   
Start date will be as soon as the background check clears.
                               
Rate of Pay:                $19.62/hour
 
Hours of Work:           6.5 hours per day
