Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Century Lower Elementary School as a Paraprofessional. This full-time position involves supporting teachers and students in a dynamic educational environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in fostering a positive learning atmosphere, assisting with the academic and social development of students, and ensuring that all students have access to the resources they need to succeed.

9 month position. 6.5 hrs a day, Monday through Friday  for the 2025-2026 School year.

Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in the preparation and implementation of instructional activities.
- Support individual students or small groups in their learning and social development.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance and behavior.
- Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Assist in the management of classroom behavior and implement behavior management plans as directed.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and adapt instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-classroom activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and activities as required.
- Support students with special needs, including those with disabilities, by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Ability to adapt to varying student needs and learning styles.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
- Knowledge of child development and effective instructional strategies is a plus.
- Must pass a background check and comply with all school district policies and regulations.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
