Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Genesee Junior/Senior High School as a Paraprofessional. This full-time position involves providing support to teachers and students in an educational setting. The ideal candidate will assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs), foster a positive learning environment, and help students achieve their academic and social goals. This role is crucial in ensuring that all students receive the attention and resources they need to succeed.

Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in the preparation and implementation of lesson plans and educational activities.
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, by providing one-on-one or small group instruction.
- Monitor and document student progress, behaviors, and interactions, providing feedback to teachers.
- Help create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and encourages participation.
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents to enhance student learning and development.
- Assist with classroom management and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
- Support students during transitions, including moving between classes and during lunch or recess.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
- Perform clerical duties as needed, including organizing materials and maintaining student records.
- Uphold school policies and procedures while promoting a culture of respect and responsibility.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience working in an educational setting or with children is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions from teachers and administrators.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed academically and socially.
- Basic knowledge of educational practices and special education principles is a plus.
- Must pass a background check and comply with all school district policies and procedures.
